After
preparing his sauces and marinades for family and friends for a number of
years, Ken Van Allen decided to take his delicious concoctions to the marketplace.
What started as a small operation in 1996 has grown steadily over the last
few years that now distributes product all over the country. Beef jerky
was added to the line about a year after the sauces and marinades were introduced
and took off immediately for the stratosphere.
O.K. Foods takes its name from the 8th President of the United States, Martin Van Buren who was born and lived in Kinderhook, New York, a quaint little village in the Hudson Valley about 18 miles south of Albany, the State Capital. He was known as Old Kinderkook in a popular slogan during his election bid for another four years in the White House.
Popular with hunters and non-hunters alike, OK barbeque sauces and meat marinades compliment meats such as venison, beef, pork and chicken. The beef jerky makes for a tasty treat while hunting wild game or anytime.
For those people lucky enough to live in Columbia County, New York, OK Foods will cater parties, picnics, BBQs or any special event with down home cookin’.
